Madeena Foundation Participates in the Bridges of Science Forum at Al-Furat University.

Madeena Foundation participated in the Bridges of Science Forum, hosted by its strategic partner, Al-Furat University, and organised by the Syrian Scientific Council, on Sunday, 28 December 2025, at the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering. The forum provided an important space for dialogue and the exchange of expertise on the current state of higher education and scientific research in Syria, as well as on approaches to strengthening academic capacity in the present context.

The forum was attended by H.E. Dr. Marwan Al-Halabi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Syrian Arab Republic; H.E. Dr. Musab Al-Ali, Minister of Health of the Syrian Arab Republic; Prof. Dr. Munir Al-Aroudh, President of Al-Furat University; Mr. Ghassan Al-Sayyid Ahmad, Governor of Deir ez-Zor; and Mr. Bassam Barabandi, former Syrian diplomat to the United States. Madeena Foundation was represented by Dr. Abdulkader Haj Ahmad, Executive Director; Ms. Raghad Kharaba, Media and Communications Coordinator; and Mr. Abdullah Al-Merhesh, Media and Communications Officer.

This participation offered a valuable opportunity to engage with leading Syrian academics and experts, discuss practical experiences inspired by international contexts, and explore ways to adapt them to the specific Syrian context in support of institutional recovery and the rebuilding of education and knowledge systems.
Madeena Foundation believes that effective partnerships between academic institutions and civil society organizations are a key entry point for strengthening human capital and reinforcing the role of knowledge in achieving sustainable and more equitable development.

Strategic Partnership between Al-Furat University and Madeena Foundation signed in Deir ez-Zor.

On Thursday, 25 December 2025, Madeena Foundation and Al-Furat University signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Deir ez-Zor, Syria.
Representing Al-Furat University was the University President, Professor Dr. Muneer Habeeb Al-Aroudh, accompanied by Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Mousa Al-Saleh, Vice President for Administrative Affairs; Professor Dr. Omar Abdulrazzaq, University Secretary; and Dr. Abdul-Jabbar Al-Mahmoud, Dean of the Faculty of Law.
From Madeena Foundation, the agreement was signed by Executive Director Dr. Abdulkader Haj Ahmad, with the presence of Deputy Executive Director Mr. Bassam Al-Draei, Director of Programs and Projects Mr. Ezzat Bakjaji, Financial Coordinator Mr. Hossam Al-Hadi, Media and Communication Officer Ms. Raghad Kharaba, and Media and Communication Assistant Mr. Abdullah Suhil.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in strengthening institutional collaboration in higher education, capacity development, and community empowerment.
Objectives of the Partnership: 
• Support educational, training, and scientific research programs.
• Strengthen the capacities of students, academic, and administrative staff.
• Enhance educational and technological infrastructure
• Implement joint programs that serve the local community and contribute to recovery and sustainable development.

The agreement reflects both parties’ shared commitment to working under the principles of transparency, accountability, neutrality, non-discrimination, and respect for human rights, in alignment with Syria’s national development priorities.

Madeena Foundation Marks 16 Days of Activism with Strong Stand Against Gender-Based Violence.

On 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the global “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign kicks off, running through 10 December, Human Rights Day.
Madeena Foundation reaffirms its strong commitment to standing with women and girls—supporting, empowering, and advocating for them—and raising awareness against all forms of violence, including physical, psychological, digital harassment, and extortion.

Ending violence is a collective responsibility that requires coordinated efforts between individuals and institutions, and a strong culture of respect and accountability to build safer, more just, and equitable communities.
Together we say: No to all forms of violence, No to threats, No to digital harassment and extortion. 

Madeena Foundation Participates in the First Civil Society Conference in Deir ez-Zor.

Madeena Foundation took part in the First Civil Society Conference held in Deir ez-Zor on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Sahara Hotel. The event brought together representatives from local authorities, community-based organizations, and professional syndicates in a significant step toward enhancing coordination and strengthening joint efforts among active stakeholders in the governorate.
The foundation was represented by: Mr. Hossam Al-Deen Al-Hadi: Projects Officer, Mr. Abdullah Suhail: Communication Assistant, and Mr. Hesham Sultan: MEAL Officer at Madeena Foundation.

The conference opened with formal speeches emphasizing the importance of empowering civil society and supporting grassroots development initiatives. It featured a keynote lecture titled “Strategies for Syria’s Future” and included a recognition ceremony honoring several official participants.
Specialized workshops explored major local challenges and pressing needs, resulting in a series of practical recommendations aimed at strengthening the developmental role of civil society organizations in Deir ez-Zor.

The conference concluded with the reading of the final statement and the presentation of commemorative gifts, underscoring the importance of effective partnerships and sustainable collaboration to serve the community and support recovery and development pathways.
